5 Wardrobe Essentials to Survive Winter Weather
From blizzards to nor'easters, there's no denying that winter is in full swing. And for those of you who, like myself, spent half the season starting blankly at your closets, wondering how to look stylish while staying warm, below I'm sharing my sartorial must-have to survive the season!
1. Beanies
Now this one's pretty easy. Every year, we all (enthusiastically) whip out our beanies as soon as the temps hit 60s, because let's face it, who doesn't love 'em?! This season the big trend in the beanie game (aside from a certain pussycat one, of course) is the pom pom style. The one I'm wearing here from Minx NY is both stylish and warm. Talk about form and function!
2. A Staple Turtle Neck
If I could own one of these in every color of the rainbow, I so would! This Land's End basic is the softest thing your body will ever touch. Not to mention it goes with just about everything- from skirts to jeans. It also makes for the perfect layering piece. If it's extra cold I'll usually throw on a crew-neck sweater or a vest over it, like I did here.

3. Heat Retaining Leggings
For me, no pant or jean will ever suffice when facing extreme weather conditions. That's why UNIQLO's heattech leggings (worn but not pictured here) have changed the winter game! They're thin enough to fit under whatever bottoms you might be wearing that day, but thick enough to make a difference.
4. Chunky Scarf
Nothing like burying your face in a chunky scarf when that strong wind is coming for your face, amiright?! I'm currently obsessed with this plaid (monogram-able if wanted!) Land's End one.
5. All Weather Boots
Last but not least, this winter make sure you stock up on a pair of everything-proof boots. I had been eyeing the duck boot style for a while now but always wondered if I could pull them off. To my surprise, not only are these Wilson's Leather duck boots super easy to work into any outfit, they're extra cozy thanks to their internal lining. Winning!
So there you have it babes, my winter survival must-haves. How about you, what are the items you won't leave the house without this season? Tell me in the comments below!
xx,
Chels.
