A Brooklyn Staycation in my DENIZEN® from Levi's® Jeans

With summer quickly escaping us, travel is on everyone’s mind. And for those of us who didn’t plan far enough in advance or simply can’t swing a last-minute trip, a staycation is very much in order.

I’m personally a huge fan of exploring my home city. You can live in a place for years and never fully finish discovering all the things it has to offer but it doesn't mean you shouldn’t try! Today I’m sharing with you guys my mini Brooklyn staycation in partnership with DENIZEN® from Levi’s® jeans.

One of my favorite NYC landmarks is hands down the Brooklyn Bridge. Not only is it aesthetically appealing but it is also one of the best walks around town. The incredible views give you the opportunity to disconnect from the chaos of the city while still admiring its beauty. I always recommend crossing it as early as you can to avoid the massive crowds but also the muggy city heat. To keep things light and airy I opted to wear a flowy off the shoulder top, these ultra-comfy yet stylish Modern Ankle Skinny  jeans, and easy-to-walk-in block heels. And I know what you’re thinking - jeans during the hottest month of the year, really? But the answer is yes! I kid you not guys these skinnies are so light and soft, butter doesn’t even begin to describe them! Snag a pair at Target and thank me later.
Once you cross over you’ll find yourself in Brooklyn’s finest neighborhood: DUMBO. Here you have delightful grubs, relaxing parks and, of course, astonishing views - the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge are both within walking distance. I packed a picnic basket and headed to Brooklyn Bridge Park for some summer sips while taking a break from the sun. These skinnies are designed to move with you - whether you’re grabbing a bite or sitting down for a picnic.

After eating comes dessert - and what better place than the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory for this?! As soon as this place opens its doors the crowds come swarming in so do anticipate some lines. But don’t worry, the first taste of your cone will make it all worth it!

And that, my friends, is a wrap! Now tell me in the comments below, what are your favorite places to staycation in your city?

xx,
Chels

City Streets

Working so many years in "the city" while living in Queens has taught me to leave my house prepared for a full day, every day. I have had to learn to dress for quick and seamless day-to-night transition, making my outfits adaptable to both work and play.

What to Wear When Biking in Nantucket

Hey loves! Gosh has it been a minute. I know I say this every month but June...man June was something else. Not only did I have a billion events to plan (PR cap on) but I also ventured out to Newport and Nantucket in a matter of weeks.

More of the Rhode Island trip later, but today I wanted to share with you guys a quick recap of my experience in Nantucket with my Schwinn Bikes fam!
