Hey beautiful people- happy (thirsty) Thursday!
The weather here in NYC is (finally) warming up which just makes me miss Cancun even more! Back in March I had the pleasure of visiting one my favorite places, Mexico lindo, with The Palace Resorts.
Now I know what you're thinking, "Cancun on Spring Break? Yikes!" And I will admit the thought crossed my mind as well. But, upon arriving at the Moon Palace Cancun, I immediately felt this inexplicable sense of zen that could only be achieved at a drunk teenager-free oasis such as this one.
Keep on scrolling to see more of my marvelous weekend escapade ...and get jealous with me. One can feel jealousy of one's past travels, right? Right...
From the very start the Moon Palace was an absolute dream. The check in process was painless- which is always a plus! Angel, at the front desk, greeted us with a smile and explained the facilities and amenities available to us. Which, spoiler alert: they're plenty!
After dropping off our bags (Mark and Graham btw) at the room, we headed over to (one of the many) buffet areas for a quick bite then straight to la playa to be the ultimate beach bums.
Since we were all pretty worn out from all the traveling/sun soaking, room service seemed like the only plausible option for dinner at the time. After a few bites of a delicious Mexican meal we were pretty much toast and ready for bed.
Saturday was the day to explore the Moon Palace and all of it's glory. We started the day with breakfast at the Bugambilias where I had the tastiest chilaquiles I've ever gotten my hands on, and trust me, I don't take my chilaquiles judgement lightly. What followed next was a combination of pool-side chilling, sun napping (which can be the absolute best or absolute worst, pending on sunscreen application) and eating...tons of eating. Dang all inclusives!
For dinner we hopped on over to Moon Palace Nizuk (yes, there's levels to this resort?!) and went for some Brazilian beef at the Arrecifes Steakhouse.
After a breakfast in bed on Sunday, Isla Mujeres was the plan for the day. The guys over at the Moon Palace excursion office helped us plan a relaxing day at Garrafon Natural Reef Park. Highly recommend for a fun day of adventure and relazation- you can snorkel, zip line or simply chill by the jaccuzi/pool.
Since we were feeling extra adventurous after our day at Garrafon, we decided to "hit the town" Sunday evening and check out the Coco Bongo show. Needless to say our expectations for the "downtown" scene were extremely low but, I'll be the first one to admit, we were absolutely blown away! You simply cannot go to Cancun and not see this show. And if overly drunk crowds aren't your thing, invest a little more and head up to the VIP. You will not regret it;)
And that pretty much concludes our fabulous stay at the Moon Palace Cancun! If you're ever headed out to the Riviera Maya and have any questions about this dreamy place, feel free to shoot me a note or drop a line in the comments. More than happy to provide further recommendations/answer questions. It's pretty safe to say that I came back head over heels for this place and suggest everyone goes here at least once in their lifetime!
