Hi lovelies!
Wanted to start off by thanking those of you who took some time to leave a sweet note in my last post. It was a very personal one but your love and support was most definitely felt.
Aside from being the first one to say TGIF to you all (Lord knows it's been a rough one) I wanted to introduce you guys to this genius project my friend/style blogger Selma invited me to be a part of. If you totally missed the hint from the title it's called Project Re-Design.
For the past couple of months Selma has been collaborating with New York based style blogger to birth this amazing idea that I'm sharing here today. The whole concept is to show our readers (and young fashionistas out there) that you can own a piece that's fun and unique without having to spend a fortune.
On a very warm Saturday morning Selma and I met up in the heart of SoHo to hit up the shops. The plan was simple: find a budget friendly piece we both loved, swipe the minimal plastic, take it home and customize it to our liking. We settled for this trendy denim skirt from H&M (you can shop it here) which works for summer as it does for early Fall, with a pair of tan suede knee high boots!
Seeing as I was utterly lovestruck with this piece, I just couldn't bring myself to alter it beyond recognition. I opted for some pins, since let's face it, they're super on-trend (looking at you Zara) and left the rest as is.
When I met with Selma to shoot our now customized pieces, I stared at her puzzled as I didn't see her rocking her skirt. When I asked she quickly flashed her brand spanking new handbag at me and we both laughed.
This goes to show that you can own trendy pieces that are exclusive and unique to you without having to give up an organ! Selma and I both went with completely different creative direction and ended with super rad results.
Happy weekend to all!
xx,
Chels.
You girls are too adorable. Chelseas the button denim skirt is so you and the bag project is so Selma. I love good finds specially when they're budget friendly!
