Hi my lovelies!
And Happy (belated) New Year!!
I'm hoping you all had a magnificent celebration this holiday season, filled with nothing but love and good vibes! I got to spend the last 7 days of the year in my home island (The Dominican Republic) with allll my loved ones and some of my childhood friends around, which was pure bliss if I do say so myself. More on that trip coming soon:)
Today I'm tackling an issue that a lot of us face after the holidays, which is, what do I do with all this damn sparkle?! We spent all this time prepping and shopping for the cutest holiday 'fits and then the season comes and goes in an instant; leaving us with way too many sequin pieces to be styled.
This is my way to incorporate a little shimmer to a regular ootd, that could be worn any winter day of the year! I balanced out the look by having the skirt be the only loud piece in the mix, and pairing it with basics like this olive sweater and camel coat. Also, when sporting a statement piece like this one, accessories must be picked with caution. I threw on my favorite fisherman hat to give the look a more daytime feel and hooked this little Zara pom pom key chain on my bag for an extra oomph. Aside from that, all the focus was on the skirt, just how I wanted it.
I personally love to play with sequins and shimmery pieces, even after the holidays, because it's so easy to transform a day look into evening wear and vice-versa. And trust me, coming from a NYC gal, those are the type that you appreciate the most when life gets hectic.
Hope you guys enjoy the look and I wish you all the most kick-ass year of your lives!
