My favorite thing about Memorial Day has to be the official start of all-white season. I know I've said plenty of times that fashion rules are meant to be broken and personally I love to do so but there's just something about the legitimacy of wearing all white after this holiday that I adore. I have this tradition of indulging in the said outfit choice every year on this day. This time around I had to work on the holiday so I opted for a flowy white top and structured off-white skirt (similar to what I'm sporting here) that was both appropriate and comfortable.
Aside from work the holiday was pretty chill for me. I met up with my bestie Carmen later in the afternoon, and we did what New Yorkers typically do. We snuck into the private "guests-only" rooftop/pool-area of The Empire hotel in the Upper West Side and kicked it to some over-priced drinks while catching up on life. I promise, it wasn't as illegal as it sounds. We were actually looking to head up to their open-to-the-public rooftop but since it was closed that day, we re-directed our destination and ended up hanging with european tourists and a few other locals that knew the ropes like we did. Not your typical Memorial Day activities (i.e: BBQs, beach escapades, etc..) but never the less, fun and relaxing.
Do let me know, what are some of your favorite Memorial Day memories?
