This is what I wore for the first day of our beautiful Spring Break adventure in San Francisco. We were still very jet-lagged and got a late start on the day yet we still walked around so much and did/saw so much. We began by walking around Union Square then somehow making our way to Grace Cathedral, later walking pass Chinatown to find ourselves in North Beach while heading to Fisherman's Wharf. When we finally found a good seafood spot to lunch we indulged in wine (hello 21!) and the best clam chowder of life! (even better that the one I tried in Boston) We then worked off our delicious lunch by walking around the piers, when we spotted Alcatraz for the very first time. We were stuffed and ready to go back to our hostel so we walked up to the bus stop which was conveniently located across the street from Ghirardelli Square....like common, how could we ignore that?! So as good tourists that probably won't be able to return to San Francisco in a while we crossed that street and ordered ourselves a big ol' combination of ice cream and chocolate perfection. When we finally made our way back to our hostel we planned to nap for about an hour or so....around 4 hours later we wake up feeling all sorts of sorry for ourselves but somehow gathered the strength to rise from our beds, get ready and conquer the SFO nightlife. We walked around Polk Street in what the locals called Tender-Nob (between Tenderloin and Nob-Hill) until we finally hit the jackpot with a bar (which none of us can remember the name of) that was playing really loud, really fun music, where we decided to spend the rest of our night, dancing it away! All in all, successful first day.
